Nevada 6.0 P.S.D report # 3

The other Tim ~ E-bay Moment

I have been waiting to go in to get this stuff fixed. I like to put everything in writing so no one get confused. An idea for someone who is paranoid like me and wants a procuct worth paying $37,000 dollars for.

My name_____Dodge 3500 vin #_________

Brought in on date:________ / Picked up on________/ Mileage on Vehicle________ /Spoke with service manager (Name_______Initial_______) from ABC Dodge where I purchased the vehicle/ The following are what I the owner consider warranty issues being that the vehicle has such limited miles.

1- Drivers side door panel rattles(towards the rear of the panel, if you push against it this will stop the rattle) 1st occurrence Issue resolved (yes/no/ seems to be) date_______ Mileage______

2- Adjusment lever vibrates. Rattles the most around 2200rpms (you can stop the rattle by grabbing the adjustment lever) 1st occurrence Issue resolved (yes/no/ seems to be) date_______ Mileage______

3- Drivers side window pops (intermittently) when rolling up. 1st occurrence Issue resolved (yes/no/ seems to be) date_______ Mileage______

4- Oil coming out between the bottom of the aluminum valve cover and the top of the head on the exhaust manifold side of the engine 1st occurrence Issue resolved (yes/no/ seems to be) date_______ Mileage______

5- When cold the engine seems to have a slightly erratic idle (the RPM needle can be seen moving up and down ever so slightly the movement of the needle corresponds with the sound of a lope from the engine. 1st occurrence Issue resolved (yes/no/ seems to be) date_______ Mileage______

6- my clutch makes a ticking noise when in neutral if the clutch is depressed then the ticking goes away. After talking with many other 6 speed owners I found that my clutch problems were common and that DC has a TSB to fix it as long as the truck has less than 12000 miles on it. I called DC to ask about the problem and they said they were aware of the issue and have addressed it in a TSB; (6 speed rattle info TSB #06-001-03) DC customer service 1-800–992-1997 I spoke with RANDY my call ref# is 11346604

1st occurrence Issue resolved (yes/no/ seems to be) date_______ Mileage______

7- I have a bad vibration between 2000 rpms to 2200rpms and is more prevalent when the ac is turned and the compressor is running. It can be felt in the peddles and steering wheel. I was told it was the tires so I switched tires and the problem persists. 1st occurrence Issue resolved (yes/no/ seems to be) date_______ Mileage______

8- Sometimes the check engine light comes on for no reason and apparently it is for no reason because it goes off very quickly and all the other gauges read normal. 1st occurrence Issue resolved (yes/no/ seems to be) date_______ Mileage______

9-paint clear coat and paint chipping and pealing very easily1st occurrence Issue resolved (yes/no/ seems to be) date_______ Mileage______

You guys might think I am blasting this truck I just want some of you to know that I love this truck. Just showing you guys what my first trip to the dealer will consist of. Every vehicle I have ever owned has had similar issues all except my Infiniti I-35 which is so well made it makes the big three look like stupid.

Documentation is great.

3 years ago under warr. my truck would leak antifreeze about once a week. Took it to the DEALER and they ordered a new radiator without even opening the hood.

I have DEALER service dept. shock (another DEALER) worse than any one.

Mike Patton service dept. took great care of my truck. I almost passed out when they treated me nice.

Tim

i figured some of you guys would be having the same problems as me I will let you know. I am doing something now b/c chances are by the time my warranty goes out half of them will be fixed but i am sure new stuff is going to "pop" (pun intended) up in the meanwhile.

Ditto on what turbotim said , also if you are a Busisness Link customer they should provide you with a like vehicle when yours stays overnight for warranty repairs!!:)

the "could not duplicate" is what i am counting on thats why it says 1st attempt whichs means there will probably 2-3 attempts before they finally find the problem. everytime they cant find the problem they are going to have to loan me a car they will get tired of this and i have nothing better to do rather than agravate them :D

Every time I come into the dealer with a pretty typed up list of my problems, separated with details, the service writer just wants to type it in his own concise words, into his computer's format, and usually tosses my list in the trash. Grrr. They assume all customers dont know what the heck they're talking about when it comes to vehicles:rolleyes:

they can do what they want to with my list as long as they initial my copy. or better print out a copy o what they typed in a give it to me. This would be much better but I will still bring in my copy. If you dont have the right doc's you have nothing and i will tell you right now i will not spend 40K and take 2nd best. Dodge will have to buy this one back i dont anticipate this but we did not expect pearl harbor or 9/11 putting in writing now so in the end everyone is happy. this is a hard lesson to learn when its learned by the hard way trust me.

What I have done in the past is bring a copy to the service writer and also tape a copy to the steering wheel for the mechanic. It has been my experience that most of the information gets lost between the service writer and the tech. It's usually the service writer that has the I know everything and you know nothing attitude. Any good mechanic listens to the customer to make his job as easy as possible. I use to go to a dealership in Maine where the head diesel guy was the owners son or nephew so he has a vested interest in things. That was my last great experience, I could go right in the bay with him and talk to him while he was doing things. He would show me how things are done and if I asked for something like the cold weather idle he would just do it. Good luck
