I have had my Granddad's 93 for the past few years. Ever since I got the truck, the throttle pedal has been a lot lower than the brake pedal. You actually have to lift up and over to hit the brake pedal. Is this a common thing for these trucks? I just use it around the farm, but every once in a while I do take her out on the road. I think the throttle pedal can't go to wide open, as there is only about 3 inches or so between the pedal and the floor in the resting position. Either the brake pedal is too high, or the throttle pedal is too low. Is there a fix for this?

Thanks,

Steve

Thats the normal position for the pedals, annoying but true.

You are correct, you might not have full throttle throw due to the short distance, carpet under the pedal, cable stretch, and the tendency for the firewall to bend a bit over time.

Check your throw on your pump at WOT to see if you are getting full throw and throttle linkage is hitting the high idle screw.

The bending firewall can be addressed by a sharp pull upwards on the pedal. You have to feel your way so you don't break things but if it has tweaked you should fell and hear a pop as it goes back into place.

Cable stretch can be remedied by either bending the bracket at the bell crank if it will give you enough, or, sourcing and adjustable aftermarket cable. I used a Locar universal throttle cable and set it so the throttle will max out before the pedal does. When the pedal hits the floor I know its time to take the slack out.

Thanks for the info guys. I will try some adjusting to see if I can get a full range of motion on the throttle, as suggested by cerberusiam.
