Another injector ???

Anyone been running a Tial brand external gate for a while. I switched to a 62/12 S300 and it helped my drive pressure some, but it's still higher than i would like to see. I like the durability of the wastegated housing but I have been told the . 8 housing is quite a bit slower to spool. I have a 38mm Tial I can install, but I'm not sure how long they last and if they are rebuildable.

To answer my own question: I found out that a new diaphram runs about $60 dollars and is easy to change. Also was told how to set it up without putting a strain on the diaphram. Several have been running for over 2 years. If they will go 2 years between changing diaphrams I will put it in and use both the internal wastegate on the . 7 housing and the external gate. Thanks Mark Kendrick.

Tial ...

Hey Ron. . the Tial that J&H Performance installed on my buddies 98' 12 valve works great for daily driving, it's been together since September and holding just fine. We have it set up to dump at 70 lbs... {which seems to be the magic number IMO for headgasket strength ;) }... it's driven daily on the street and no trouble with it. . would be nice to have a dial to raise or lower the pressure like for racing instead of pulling the hose off the bleeder though.

Turbonetics has the best manual boost controller set up, cheap too, and you can install it in the cab for easy adjusting.

Jake.

wow turbonetics huh. not going to start on that one. look at turbosmart for their e-boost it is not cheap but is its own dependant boost controller and oost guage in one. it will controll rpm based boost and do a lot of other things. or a plain electronic boost controller. I had a customer with an e-boost and I was looking at his dyno sheet. from like 1100 to redline the truck mage 1050 ftlbs. with in 50ftlbs all the way through the pull. because the e-boost was tuned to do that. and the tial will hold up fine. allthough Im not sure if the 38 is large enough. I would maybe think the 44, its also nice because of the 4-bolt mounting. less gasket problems
