I'm getting an intermittent ticking noise from my injection pump area. Any ideas? It dont seem to matter if it's hot or cold.

It sounds like if you removed a spark plug wire from a car while it was running. It's a very strong <tick> as if it was a strong spark jumping to ground.

The truck is running great other than this minor annoyance.

I was able to trace the ticking noise to the fuel return line on my truck. It does sound just like a small exhaust leak. I was able to hold the line while the truck was running and could feel the line in time with the noise. I have heard of quite a few 12 valvers having this "problem".

Thanks for the reply. I had the problem that you stated way back when, and I brought it back to the dealer. They told me it was the fuel line, and it's "normal".

This problem is much louder than that was, and I heard the noise while standing next to the injection pump on the top of the engine.

Next time it happens, I'll go under it to check the fuel line just to be sure.
