I have an 06 5. 9,showing fault code A/C clutch control circut malfunction.

The Guy I took the truck to said it is a dealer install only. The problem is the A/C clutch will not kick on. Does any body know the best dealer around Galveston County Tx to take my truck to get the TIPM installed?

Thanks

The '06s may have had a run of bad AC compressor clutches. Mine failed with broken rivets at around 200k. I've read of other failures.

I called MOPAR4LESS and had a new compressor in hand up in Indiana the following morning. A private shop installed it for about one or one and a half hours of labor and a modest price.

Any decent mechanic or AC shop can do it. I recommend you buy the compressor yourself and take it in with you IF that is the problem.

Maybe I dind't put info in my first post. I need the Total intregrated power module replaced(TIPM). He can make the A/C clutch kick on with the scan tool, but their is someting messed up in one the relays that you can't replace.

Dealer item only so I'm told.

Thanks Andy

Ok,the scan tool does not power up the compressor, the tipm does. The scan tool is acting as an input to the tipm just as the ac switch does. Maybe your guy should perform some more diagnostics... ... ... ...

A good Dodge dealer can reset the TIPM... ... ... ... ... I got clipped close to 1,000 bucks in a private shop that said they knew what they were doing... ... ..... It was one time when I should have gone to the dealer... ... ... ...

Also, Dodge got a batch of bad A/C connectors... ... ... ... ... . wiggle the electrical connector to see if it will kick in... ... ... ...

My AC compressor just locked up 1,000 mile from home breaking the serp belt. $950 later, Larry, Darrell and his other brother Darrell got me back on the road. It was a Chinese fire drill deserving book and movie rights.

Uncle Harvey,

I am always amazed at how perceptive you are! That is exactly what we did... ... ..... but still paid $1100 in taxes to help the folks that don't want to work.

Fixed

Found out one of my friend's has access to a Star Scan, the scanner said A/C clutch fault. Replaced A/C compressor and it is working fine. Guess the first guy misdiagnosed. Thanks for everyone's help,TDR is an awesome site.
