All this comes under the heading of “ I’m not happy until you’re not happy” .

If you say so.

personally would rather have my eyes opened than keeping on getting a deal that is not nearly as good as it could be.
I’m betting the OP will use this info on a future deal. I’m also betting several others will do the same.
Sorry to upset you.

The sound makes the music, and yours is often not so, well, nice.
Even if your points are really good and valid, people feel offended from it.

For your records; your points are often good, but bad presentation.
Try to work on this and we all can be happy again.

Yes ,very good advice, but I am afraid its falling on deaf ears.

Do yourself (and your hitch and hitch pin) a favor and get a new 2.5" ball mount. Using those adapters can bend hitch pins and elongate the hitch pin holes in the receiver hitch.
And someday, inevitably, you'll forget about the adapter and leave it in when you pull the ball mount out. At best, you'll lose it, at worst, create a hazard to another driver.;)

You are saying , don't use the adapter, get a 2.5 ball mount ,and eliminate the adapter ??. Although I don't tow anything too heavy , mine has a few miles on that adapter.

I have one of those reversible Andersen Rapid hitches ,and it never gets taken out. My son tows pretty heavy every day with the same hitch the Andersen using the 2*5/16 ball. I will have him check to see how the receiver is doing, he's been using the adapter for nearly three years now.

You do have a good point on the adapter , my son went to pick up a new travel trailer, they mounted the equalizer hitch, and we discovered things wrong with the trailer, they removed the hitch, and we left. They never put the pin back in, and that was the end of that adapter, they had to replace his . He also towed that trailer which was a 34' toy hauler on that adapter .

Yes. Others have noticed the same issue. Mine had the issues I mentioned just pulling a 5000 lbs (wet) travel trailer.

Try to visualize what is going on inside the receiver with the adapter. No longer is the pin been utilized in a direct shear, it now has about 1/4" gap (so to speak) on each side between where the ball mount is, and where the receiver hitch is. This can make the pin bend.

Thanks. Good to know, especially with my sons application , I will be sure to let him know, so he can check it out.

All the lamps are LED on the new rig... I can't find one incandescent bulb. The fogs are cool... When they are not turned on... They act as cornering lights, When you turn the wheel a certain degree left or right it will turn on the corresponding foglight to illuminate the turn. My wife's Audi does the same thing. Went to the local Home Depot yesterday and spotted a cool rig in the parking lot... (except it was a gasser). It was a RAM 2500 Power Wagon with the AEV Prospector XL kit minus the snorkel. The tires were huge... 40x13.5/R17! Here's a few pics....

550 miles on the clock now and I must say... This revised 6.7 has a different sound than the previous 6.7's. You can definitely hear the CP4.2 whirring away... Sounds like sewing machine. Idle sound is a little different and when cruising at freeway speeds it's got a nice mellow low grumble. Valve train is quieter, You can really hear the injectors firing off now. Sounds like a well engineered machine. Rear bumper was delivered the other day... It's going on this weekend. I also ordered the Edge Amp'd throttle response booster with remote switch to "firm" up the slush pedal. I had a Pedal Commander on my 18 and loved it but it went with the truck when I sold it.

Ordered on July 9th:

2019 3500 SRW MegaCab Laramie LO 6.7 4x4. I went with pretty much every option available except for the rear air suspension. I did go with the RamBox delete as well as sunroof delete.

It landed at the dealership on September 20th BUT it was caught up in a recall where 5400 trucks manufactured from July 6th to Aug 24th were assembled with front brake calipers that were assembled by the supplier with the incorrect assembly lube.... Which could cause the piston seals to swell and allow the pads to drag. The fix is to replace both front calipers and brake lines. Well, They finally approved the recall fix and started issuing parts. The dealership said FCA is currently allowing service departments 1 set per week but my truck will be the first to get the fix..... Parts arrived Wednesday, Installed on Thursday and today the truck is on a carrier headed for my home.

The truck as built was $77,345 and I was able to negotiate a normally non negotiable price down to $73k and I got them to match the MaxCare 8/125 warranty price I found online.... $2850!! The dealership where I bought my 2018 2500 SRW MegaCab from scoffed at selling me that same warranty for that price, They said No. Well.... That's why I purchased this 2019 from a different dealership. When you've been going to the same dealership for 12 years you'd think they'd hook you up... The parts department always has.

So the truck should be here in a few hours... I'll post up some pictures. In the meantime here are a few pics the dealership sent after it came off the train.

Congrats,
Have heard nothing positive about the 2019 Cummins motor, glad you bought the warranty

I've yet to hear anything negative about it.
Engine block made in Mexico, metal warps
Bosch 4 fuel pump made for European diesel,
Chevy and ford used it and have massive recall
Metal shavings in injectors
Read posting from dodge employee, engine assembler
I bought a 2018,
Hope some of the posts aren't true but my salesman confirmed problems with new motor.
There are postings on the Cummins forum

Why is an engine bock cast in a modern Mexican facility of less quality than your block cast in Brazil ? The block is Compacted Graphite Iron. First used in railroad applications and now used by the likes of all major NASCAR teams. Warping is less of an issue than in traditional cast iron applications.
Bosch cp4 pump failures in Ford and GM were early iterations that lacked later improvements as well as they were being used without a separate lift pump. Not the case with Cummins. Tell us how many failures in Cummins powered pickups there’s been.
Dodge never assembled a single Cummins engine so what does he have to do with anything?
Your salesman confirmed? You know he has the morals of a politician and an IQ less than the average sewer rat, right?

RTayor,

You gotta REALLY nice truck, so don't let folks try to PEE in the punch about your truck. Heck, I'm happy for ya, and with my ownership experience with Ram AND Cummins, the 2019s are likely the best, strongest, most durable, and most capable yet.

Just hang in here and try not to he turned off by the noise.

Cheers, Ron
