Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) torqueconverter controll

I have been a member since 01 but this is my first thread. My truck is prettymuch stock 01 2500 automatic it just has a edge box and exhaust. On level 4 and 5 the truck feels like a pig in first second and third and when it hits overdrive it feels strong! the truck only has 50,000 miles on it so I don't think their is anything wrong with the trans or converter I guess I just need the converter to lock in first second and third gear? any suggestions?

The fluid coupling in the stock converter is far too loose. An aftermarket converter is the best answer. A lock up switch is hard on the input shaft.
