I'm hoping to stick with the turbo I have.

Basically I am going to have to pull everywhere except the interstate in 5th with my 35" tires. That is o. k. It keeps the RPM's around 22-2300.

I just wish it would run a little cooler. But it's not to the point it's dangerous. It will be 1,000 constant and that should be more then o. k.

I am thinking of swapping the Exhaust housing to a 12 instead of the 14 right now.

FWIW... . Randys R&P in Everett, WA. quoted me just under $1900 to do the 3. 5 to 4. 10 swap. .

This has been some time ago, but I *think* my local dude said the gear sets were $400+ and a couple hondo to set each one ... ... ... ... maybe $1200-$1500.

Just a thought here.

Would my stock turbo have been a better turbo for towing a GVW of 17,000lbs?

I would like to hit 500HP, but more importantly I need to be able to tow my trailer without any problems.

With this turbo and it throwing codes, it doesn't work all that great. If I have to stop every couple hours to clear a code I don't think the extra air is worth it.

Searching on the TDR it seems like people have problems with even the 62/12 so I don't know if it is worth spending the time and money on to switch this one over.

I'm wondering the same thing, LOL. I experienced some heat issues at higher elevations out west with a Quad on "1" and Flux 1's. I'm usually around 20,000# ... ... ... . soone to more with a new trailer.

However, if an aftermarket huffer is gonna eliminate some reliabilty, I'll stay with the stocker and slow down climbing mountain passes.

I haven't seen the heat in the east with shorter climbs and heavier air.
