I told myself i should not discuss this kind of stuff on the internet because if not adjusted properly you can end up with more headaches than you started out with.

Before anyone follows this advice on how to adjust the tps keep in mind that ever action has a reaction.

You can adjust the tps voltage to pretty much what ever you want without following Chryslers proceedures.

Before starting always record your voltage, you must have a baseline to start from.

Make adjustments in small incriments, first remove the tps,

knock out the 2 steel sleeves, with a small file oblong the holes,

and install the tps sensor.

Always start with the original voltage you had, as you increase your voltage your od and lock up will start to come in later and later. The down side of doing this is when you are slowing down or if you remove your foot from the throttle the tc will not unlock unless you step on the brake pedal or your vehicle speed drops below a certain setting.

Bill,

Will violating the 5" length adjustment on the linkage by going shorter like i did to get the correct tps voltage harm anything like you were saying about not unlocking while decelerating? Mine seemed to operate fine at the . 78 voltage i had before, but I just got this truck and trying to make it right. I have not noticed much driving difference since the adjustment. Should i have left it alone?

Adjusting the tps via linkage is something i havent done, knocking out the sleeves in the tps and filing the holes oblong is the easiest way i have found without affecting engine idle or wide open throttle.

TPS adjustments vary from one truck and from one driver to the other. You are the best person to set up the tps setting for you based on your driving habbits.

If you are an extremely light foot driver lets face it od and lock up will come in a lot earlier after power increases and transmission modifications.

What used to take you 1/2 throttle now only takes you 1/4 throttle to get to the same speed.

The pcm was never told that you increased the power or changed the transmission, so its still going off its original programming.
