I'm going to be doing my track bar soon.

I want to know what track bar youre using, how do you like it, how much is a rebuild kit (if it exists) and what did it cost you.

I have hand tools, but I cannot weld, please mention if welding is needed. :D

I was going to just get the NAPA lifetime warranty bar, but thought I'd explore my options before commiting.

This is for my 1998 12 valver. :D

Thanks!

Eric

Thanks Cooker.

I suppose Moog, Carquest and NAPA are all just about the same. :D

Come on guys... . 51 reads and only one reply?

I don't think the NAPA suspension parts are rebranded Moog. Unless thing have changed recently? I do know that the Moog is probably the best direct replacement bar you can purchase.

I put a DT Profab on at 25K miles. Big improvement in steering. Not a easy bolt in due to having to drill 2 holes with a hole saw in the front crossmember, but no welding required...

I am currently using a Luke link. About the only tools needed is a grinder of sorts and you are good to go. Works great. :)

I have used Luke's link to fix my track bar. A grinder is needed. It does work good, but Luke's link will not work on a Moog track bar, so says his instructions.

I used the Lindstad kit that is a weld on but they also sell the complete trackbar modified with their kit. I'm happy with mine and it's adjustable so it should last a long time.

tracbar

I used a DT tracbar was easy to mount corrected some of steering problems. I do recommend this tracbar easy to rebuild if you ever have to.

I am on my third track bar from Napa. It has a lifetime warranty. According to Napa there is a big problem and they do not have any more bars, so Napa gave me my money back.

I went to Kragen and got one there. It also has a lifetime warranty, and I am still on the same one. (9000 miles. )

The Kragen one was cheaper too.

I don't know what part of the USA you're from, but I have one from a Consumer Auto Parts store that has a lifetime warranty. It cost me $140. IMO I won't have to buy another track bar again, just keep replacing this one- which is still going strong after 20,000 mi. My local dealer wanted $250 for the same part-no lifetime warranty.

You're lucky you don't have an early 94. Before Jan or Feb of 94, they used a smaller stud so the aftermarket is limited. I'm on my 2nd replacement and so far, so good. I will check around though before I buy another one.

To replace a track bar, there's a bolt thru one end, and a nut on the ball stud of the other end. A simple wrench and hammer job. :D
