I could only find that message for the check wiring, not the trailer disconnected message.

I also only found these steps under a "C" code, so there could be additional info available to the dealer at time of the message? For example these steps are listed under...
  • C10C7-19 ITBM Output Overcurrent (ITBM that's the integrated trailer brake controller)
Also listed under a few other ITBM codes.

Here is a screenshot of some steps.

It involves a bunch of connectors.

There are some pre-check and post-check stuff way too much to post in this format.

But besides bringing it in and having them run all the tests never know you might stumble on something here.

There also was a website like autocodes or something someone links to that once im a while, maybe they can dig out that above code and see if it has steps for these messages.

I'm getting the exact same messages as the OP. Brake magnets are all within spec (3.0-3.9 ohm), fuse appears to be ok, all new wiring from frame to individual brakes (10/2 marine cable, terminal strip, crimp connectors and shrink tubing), and continuity from trailer 7-way plug to distribution terminal strip. Still nothing.

*******ship says controller is functioning properly. Is there a way to test the controller myself ? It obviously will not send voltage unless it detects the brake system present.

TIA

Hi Todd - welcome aboard!

Please fill in your signature with info on your truck. That way we might be able to provide some useful information.

Regarding testing the brake controller, the user SAG posted a couple of times how to test it. A quick search should yield that info.

How old is the trailer? I have a 2006 Snopro snowmobile trailer. A few years ago, I started having the same error message. The trailer cable had stiffened with age, and when I turned or hit a bump, or a combination, the stiff cable caused the plug at the truck to lose contact and when the turn or bump was done, it would reconnect Replacing the connector/cable fixed the problem.

I'm so electrically challenged I ought to sit on my fingers instead of typing, so please put up with me. #1 I had the tiniest bit of spider web in a plug that took eons to find. #2 An OLD acquaintance used to disconnect the hitch so bad grounds wouldn't be trying to ground through the hitch when he was chasing a problem. #3 Our disaster relief trailer lights /brakes wouldn't work with one of three truck. You would think the truck plug was bad. Short version: Replaced trailer plug and all is well. Thanks for your patience
