Trailer tie downs

The car hauler I bought about a month ago does not have any decent anchor points. It only has the brackets for putting on side boards. They don't look strong enough to put a chain on. Anybody know where I could get some D-rings or a better suggestion. Thanks, JC

Might try AW Direct. They have lots of towing, recovery and service rig accessories.

Northern equipment, used to be Northern Hydralics, has D rings with a mounting plate that you weld to the frame. Almost any trailer supply place should have these. Does the trailer have a wood floor or metal? If metal, you might be able to install recessed/flush rings in the floor if the trailer bed is set up the right way for them.



Install more than you think you will need. I used to haul a race car and whenever it got wreaked, always had to tie down a little different than normal. Sort a like electrical outlets in a house, they are never where you want them to be.

Got mine from my Wells Cargo Dealer. Two pce, flush mount. Rated at 6,000 lbs each. When installed in a 3/4" plywood floor, rating is 3,000 lbs each. Four of them should be adequate for my 230 lb dirt bike!!
