Need advice on what will happen if I remove the check ball assembly on the cooler lines by the radiator? Thinking about just going to rubber line for both supply and return and be done with the quick disconnects. To expensive to replace at over a hundred dollars a piece. Good trans hose is $20. 00 for 4 feet with double clamps on each end. Planning to cut the aluminum line, swedging the ends and sliding the line on. Problem solved!

Its my understanding, depending on which person chimes in, that removing the check ball means a slight wait in neutral at start up, for the fluid that bleeds down to pump through the system again.

I drilled out the check valve. The trans now needs to be put in N if the front of the truck is higher. Like when sitting in my driveway facing up hill. Nose down no wait required. On even ground the wait is less than 3 seconds. When nose up it takes Max 10 seconds.

Over all in my case a harmless good mod. I had an issue one time of overheating the trans in 104* outside air temp, a/c on and stop n go traffic. Thought it would prevent any future issues removing the check valve and small coil inside.
