Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) Trans problem in detroit

I am having trans issues, had a rusted out line that i replaced. Now the trans won't upshift, slips when cold and seems to skip in and out of gear. My question is has anyone else experienced this kind of failure? and is there a good trans shop in my area that someone would recomend. looking for a shop that is familiar with these trucks.
