Can anyone tell me if there are any negative side effects to using a resistor in the temp sensor plug. The company truck (95 2500) has had 2 sensors in the past month. Erratic shifting, temp light on when cold in the morning, etc. I put in the resistor and it shifts normal. Of course now I have someone telling me that this is a problem because when the trans is cold and the PCM thinks it's warm it will (or won't can't remember what he said exactly) go into lock up. Is this something I need to worry about?

TIA,

Brian

OOPS! sorry, wrong forum. Can someone move this for me please

When it's cold in the winter run it with OD locked out for a few miles. I've been running mine with a resister for some time and no problems. Of course, where I live your butt doesn't freeze to the ground every winter.
