Competition Detroit Soft Locker for the front alxe

Competition U-joint upgrades, when are they needed?

I've noticed that most sled pullers (I might be wrong though) use the NV4500.

Why, when the nv5600 is so much beefier, would all you guys use the 5 speed?

Also, how is the NV4500 upgraded to handle the power? Just billet shafts with all the fifth gear updates?

I might be wrong but it's probably a weight issue. Nv4500=197lbs vs. Nv5600=360lbs. Most guys around here want use the lighest truck they can get to pull in the lighter classes such as 6200lb and 6500lb class.

it's a lot cheaper to put a 1 3/8ths" input shaft ,the fully splined mainshaft and a new fifth gear than swap one over to a six speed. the six speed is a little tougher imo. and u have more gear options to pull in.
