Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) transmission question

just so im clear on this the 94-95 had 47rh and the 96-98 had 47re,the h is for hydrolic and the e is for electric.



question two is i figured out i can operate the overdrive on a 47rh when i do my swap but how will the convertor lock.

Best I can tell you are correct as far as rh vs. re. If you come accross an extra 47rh, let me know. I need one for a suburban conversion I am doing. Thanks. Someone else will have to chime in for the lockup question. I do know that there is an external switch that tells the trans it can or can not lock up, but once the switch says yes, the actual function of locking up is done inside the trans with hydraulics.
