transmission questions

Has anybody had their auto trans done in Sacramento area, and is happy with their "beefed up", high hp/torque transmission?
Ken Imler,who is a high performance person here says he uses A1 transmission, which I think is in Ga. If I have to send it there, I will do so, but I have to take all my parts on my 48re (flex plate, input shaft and Gorend converter) out of one trans, and then ship those parts along with my 47hl (or whatever stock auto it is) so it would be much cheaper and easier to find somebody here. Although my stock auto trans is still getting me around in my 1994 Ram, I don't think it will hold up with much more torque, which is my plan.

Good idea, I didn't think of that. I do hope they upgraded their phone service, it took me many calls leaving messages before they returned it. About 15-20 years later, I still remember how difficult it was t get ahold of them that first time. It was the first time that was so hard, after that I was able to contact them
