Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) transmission shot

transmission was slipping badly so I had a shop take a look and they said the fluid was burnt. More than likely the clutch paks are burnt so basically it needs a rebuild.



I am curios as to what the difference is between me just buying a TC and VB and having them install those two with rebuilding the rest vs. buying just a whole new transmission. Obviously one is brand new, but for instance, is the clutch packs of a higher grade in a new transmission? What about the rest of the insides??
