:confused:I am having transmission trouble. I have a 2001 automatic. I had the trans. rebuilt when 2nd gear went out. and have trouble with it not kicking down in passing gear or when pulling camper, driving in cruise and come to a hill it tries to shift down but won't. The engine revs up but does not go into gear. The rebuilder checked everthing out but couldn't find anything wrong. On occasion when driving through a small town from 65 to 45 for about 1 mile or so then trying to accellerate slowly by pushing down on throttle slowly nothing happens until I have pushed down a bunch then it away we go like I floored the pedal, I think this is TPS but not sure could the all be related. My rebuilder thinks the shifting down protion is maybe the valve body, being worn inside.

Hi there,

Lack of accelerator pedal response does sound like it could be a faulty APPS (TPS). This can affect transmission shift points.

I'd start by replacing the APPS sensor then see if the transmission shifting problem changes. If it doesn't, we can help you troubleshoot more.

Best regards,

John L.
