Actually Keith, I am switching from 35 12. 50 16. 5 m/t tires to 285 65 17 toyo proxes s/t so the 5" hieght and ?? weight difference will add to it too.



Yea, I guess I will stop at 12. 00 and just stick to good ol #2. :(
 
Shoot, I still have a pile of chrome moly left over from the Bonneville truck that never was, we can fix it.



Eric, how does your truck run that good when you don't have over a thousand ccs of fuel?:confused:

I to am new to the Auto Trans world, and would like to get the best one out there.

I'd like to know more about this ability to down shift like a standard trans while pulling. and how long the trans should last.

Do all the companys offer this, just wondering because I have know idea how the Auto is even suppose to work and would like to get the best up grade in the near future.

I to thought this topic walked, the fact remaines the same---there is alot to be desired in the factory trans either stock power or mod. There is a few trans builders that that know what to do w/ the dodge factory problems & enhance ,durability, & performance at the same time. There will always be a battle between who is best & who isn't. I would personally recommend calling DTT or ATS to figure out exactly what your looking for. Otherwise---you will follow threads like this & waste alot of your time. Hope this helps---Proflow

just to add more to the picture. my bd transmission is so far unbreakable, and i try to break it every time i get in it. now i'm sponsored by bd, but that doesn't change the fact that i can't break this transmission. as far as the lockup clutch, with my gcvw at 22k i locked the convertor and drove 800 miles home over 3 passes a that are at least 6%. i couldn't get that thing to budge. this is just something else to think about.



i think all the aftermarket transmission co's have really stepped up to the plate and are making good products. whose is the best is a matter of opinion. there is more than one game in town that's for sure.

Yeah, I know what you mean... . before... it was just DTT and BD.



Now... it's DTT, BD, and ATS... . I consider these to be the 3 big players. Nothing against anyone else... . these are the 3 I've been researching.



No matter who I choose, it's going to be at least $3500 to do it up right... .

i've had it for 6000 miles. i have done 200+ 25psi 4wd launches. i have locked the convertor at 22k gcvw up a 8% grade and punched it and it has never slipped. i can honestly say this is transmission is doing things i never thought were possible. today i raced my friend with his cbr929. i launched at 25psi and it took him until 60mph to catch me. this was just on #2.



now don't get me wrong i will break this transmission, there is now way anyone can build a transmission that can put up with my power forever. the last time i was on a dyno i made 100hp more than anyone else there on #2. and i made 25 more hp than stephans truck and they were using nos.



i just wanted to let you guys know that bd builds a heck of a transmission!

WOW< With that kind of driveing and punishment, I ought to see many miles of great towing with my punny 352HP. :D



When we see things in the right light, what more proof do we need.

EDIT:: after I posted I seen this thread was about the triple lock, I was not flameing ATS, or anyone. I think ATS has a superbe product and if my transmission doesn't live up to my expectations then ATS will be getting some money from me for their setup.
