Ok, so my truck is doing this really lame thing where I punch the throttle and it doesn't do a thing! The boost gauge reads about 3lbs, and the RPM's don't climb at all! This is if i am coasting along and then punch it. Then, all of a sudden, after about 5 seconds, BAM!, it kicks in hard and the boost jumps to 20-30lbs and the RPM's roar into life.

What the heck is wrong with this thing?

Sounds like my truck when the VP-44 went bad. do a search for past posts on this subject. :) Good luck as this part ain't cheap. Hope you can get the dealer to do it under warr.

ToolManTimTaylor had the smae thing going on... I believe it was a loose ground on the block... I don't think it is the VP.

Send ToolMan a PM...

Wow weird!

I was cruisin the boards tonite and found this so no P. M s nessecary.

I had a major issue chasing this one down and Here is the history. End result clean up those gronds as this is the easies and least expensive method. then when all is good and you have made sure of that go on to the next things which would be testing aps , vp , and even other things like injectors , turbo and supply of fuel.

I checked my codes (check engine light is on) and had the ol' 0216 and also a 0217. I know that it got a little hot on me a few weeks ago towing (coolant, not EGT) and then threw the light and ran horribly for about 5 min while I let it idle itself cool. The check light had been off for a while but resurfaced recently again.

Still thimk a ground is a culprit or VP44 for sure?

Check the ground. I rerouted my Comp ground to the left fender (same screw as the battery negative) and got rid of my stuttering issue. Also disconnect the injection pump wire to run like a EZ for a bit, see if the symptoms go away...

Beast2B, make sure you give a report when those Mach 3's and the B1-B find their way into you're truck. ;) That combo looks really tempting!
