My truck has been idling a bit rough... and if I hold the throttle at around a thousand (with a stick between the seat & pedal to hold consistent), it will fluctuate up & down by about 100-200 rpms.

I currently have the low pressure idiod light with an added buzzer and it has yet to alarm to low fuel pressure.

Yes... Im planning on adding a fuel pressure gauge... THAT post is in another thread and forum.

Im at the station today & tomorrow and at the ambulance the next day. So it will be a few days before I can dive into this.

Any thoughts or ideas before I take this on?

I'd probably start out by checking codes and adding some Power Service Diesel Kleen. Smell around engine area for raw diesel - could have an air getting into fuel line.

None

I smelled around the engine area... No diesel smell at all. Was thinking along the same lines. Fuel pump sounds fine when I bump the key. Idiot light/buzzer goes off as soon as the lift pump stops after bumping the key. Im in the process of doing an APPS reset right now. Ive done the suncoast rewire, and I have a BD noise filter on it as well. Im trying to remember if I did the APPS reset after I installed the noise filter. Will advise what my findings AFTER the APPS reset are. I wont be able to check for codes till I get off the three days of shifts.

Craig,

My '02 was doing the same thing. Took it to the dealer and they diagnosed it as 3 bad injectors. So after replacing all 6 injectors my problem has resurfaced. I have yet to take it to the dealer again but will soon, extended warranty running out, to figure out what it is. My fear is that it is the magnificent VP-44 failing again. I had to replace one at 70,000 and if that is the problem I will be doing so at 115,000. Hopefully I can get it done under the extended warranty. Let me know what you come up with.

Very interested in hearing.

I have about the same problem. As soon as I bring mine off an idle it smooths out. I have no codes very good fuel pressure and I just set the valve lash so I'm leaning to the injectors. I hope
