Attention: TDR Forum Junkies I have a 1999 Dodge Ram Pickup extra cab with the 24 valve 5. 9L cummins diesel with the Automatic transmission. The truck has 165K on the odometer and runs great pulls strong. Starts and runs first thing in the morning every time but once warm, about an hour or so the truck will turn off, just quit, driving or at idle and there are no dash lights at all, no check engine lights. when you go to restart, engine cranks but no start. if you keep trying 7 8 9 times no start, let sit for several minutes and it will start and run. sometimes for several minutes and sometimes less. one time i let it sit for almost an hour and it ran for 45 minute to get me home.
The only things that i have done so far is: new fuel filter, and checked fuel pressure at the filter and it was a solid 12 pounds. race the engine and it dropped to 8#.
I was told by previos owner that the injector pump was replaced about 2 years ago and approximately 20K.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thatnks for the support. Mike
