Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Truck wont start

Hey guys:



I went to jump in my truck this morning and it would not start. I had ran it earlier and it was fine. I went to turn the switch and I would hear a click but the starter would not roll at all. The other week, I was starting the truck and after it started and I let off of the key, the starter stayed engaged for a moment. What is wrong with the ole girl? Can a starter go out at 86,000 miles? Is this covered under the factory 100,000 mile warranty?

My starter went out at 75K. I bought a rebuilt Autolite from Kragen for $190 with a core charge of $160. They really want the core back.

Is a starter covered under warranty? Who makes the updated rebuild kits with the good contacts for these starters? I've seen them advertised on this board before.
