guys this IS NOT a flash the software is in the ECM all that is needed is about 10 pushes of the button on the DRB and its done... Here are the steps for those whose dealers cannot figure it out...

Under Engine you go to misc. it is on page 2 for the techs who don't know, then you got to idle up feature and hit enable you are officially done! Yes I know this from personal experience... .

I envy you auto guys. I have the NV5600 and I thought I read about the switch kit for the manual trucks. Does anyone know the part number for the kit from mopar?

Sounds like you already dealt with the short bald red headed guy with the Napolean complex, lmao... ... ... .

Must be another guy down there now cuz the guy I hate has long hair and rides a Harley into work and is consistently 10-20 minutes late everyday, or at least the days I tried to get there early for first come first serve.

It only works with the autos? Am I reading that correctly? I have the G56 manual...

There is supposed to be a switch kit that utilizes the clutch to allow you to enable the high idle feature on the NV5600 and G56 manual transmission trucks. Only I cannot find the part number from mopar. Someone told me it was about $300 bucks for the switch kit. Any ideas?

I just got my truck back from the dealer to enable the "High Idle". I was quoted around $80. 00. When I went to pick up the truck. It was "No Charge". So, I was pleasantly surprised.

Where I live (Iowa) it does get a little cold in the winter, so I figured "why not".

Got mine turned on today for free. I tried to get them to turn on the daytime running lights too and they said they couldn't though, does anyone know if you have to change the country code for that? Bob? I also got the fuel tank vent hose rollover valve thingy done.

Yes it works on the NV5600, but you need a clutch switch. The switch wires ground to the ECM when the clutch is pushed.

dodge wants around $300. 00 for the switch kit

I bought mine from Cummins. I needed to buy a switch and a wire extension that plugs into the ECM. I think I spend $40. 00 total. I had to make a mount for the switch. Sorry, but I don't have time to look up the part numbers, but a search of TDR will show them.

The 06 is unique... ..... I haven't been able to find a back door yet to turn them on. Sorry

Got a question regarding turning on the high idle function..... if the high idle is enabled I'm assuming that the user has to mount a switch and splice wires together in order to turn on the high idle??

No, the high idle works with the cruise control switches. You turn the cruise on, push the set button and the rpm's will go to 1100, then if you push the accel button you can raise the speed up to 1500 rpm or anywhere in between.

No splicing, no jury rigging, no rube goldbergs :-laf

Awesome! I'm moving from the POS 6. 0 PSD to a real truck so excuse my 'rig job' questions :-laf. To enable high idle in the 6. 0 powerjoke wires have to be spliced and a switch has to tie everything together.
