What is the max size TST plate I can install on my 1996 12 valve. Its totally stock with a 3 gouge pod being installed next week. I do not want to blow up the trans.

Automatic? #8 is pretty safe, #6 gets a bit risky with stock trans. #5 would require other changes like a bigger turbine housing and trans work for reliability.

My 98 12valve had a 8 plate. Fuel mileage stayed the sameD.The trans had some issues. That was 8 years ago . I installed a bhaf on the 98.
There is a new AFE I installed couple of weeks ago on the 96. I agree I will add the 8 plate to my list of upgrades. Thanks for the insight D.

Welcome. If you fill out your signature, it will help us give accurate recommendations. I have a #6 full forward, with improvements to the intake and exhaust, and I have to keep an eye on EGTs on grades towing or empty. 4.10s are a little more forgiving than 3.54s.

Yes I purchased a bone stock 1996 12v Ram 3500 club cab from a forum member. It has 137 k miles. Very clean interior exterior is same. White ext. Blue interior.. I installed the tst Afc spring kit today I am looking forward to the first drive.

How do I know what is the optimal adjustment for the light afc spring? Mine is adjusted 100% clockwise at this time.?

Smoke. Remember, smoke is waisted fuel. A lot has to do with personal preference though. I adjusted mine with compressed air so I would achieve maximum fueling at 20 lbs of boost. I then tweaked on the side of the road. Slap a plate in and start playing with it. Just make sure you have gauges. Good luck

Ok so I connect compressed air to the afc diaphragm. Can you fill in the blanks. I do not want to rupture afc diaphragm. Thanks.
