Competition 2005 Lincoln County Schedule

i posted this before, but was hoping for more feedback. i have a 2001 dodge 24 v,with a vanakin plug in box,a 135 hp blue chip box. im doing the transmission as we speek. and im thinking about 120 or 140 hp injecters. my?. . i have the stock hy 35 and i have a large htb4c hloset(for 855 cummins)it has a 5 and a half in wheel. with it set up as a twin configuration do u think a 24 valve could spin it. i used to have a hoped up pete and this turbo cost almost 2 grand. i was going to sell it but then thought maybe i could use it. i dont pull and never raced the truck but i would like to make alot of hp then start playing with it... i would love the feed back if anyone knows anything about these turbos.....

Your stock turbo and the ht4c wont work well with each other. You would need to change your small turbo and do some other mods for that setup to work. E-mail me and we can discuss your options.

Only 120HP injectors?

The 4c will want alot more fuel.

I would run 12-180 HP injectors, like a 4. 8 Mach injector on the street. and run a 300HP injector at the track, sled pulling, or for the weekend.

Look at upgrading your Blue Chip to a Redline box.

I've run a Lil '55 and a Big Air. They 4C is capable of pushing some serious air. More air than your motor will want. They are great turbo's, pretty dam strong. I've popped boots several times at 90PSI, and they both held up fine. They only thing they didn't like were rocks.

As far as your 24V power, run a big injector, a FASS, and a couple tricks will have that motor running real nice.

A '40 or Lil '55 would push that 4c real good.

A 35 barely handles a 3B. A 40 will run a 3B, or a 4b.

If you are set on running the 4c, think about getting a modified '55 to pair with it.

Before you try to bolt that turbo up to your truck think about what else you will need.

a '55-4c combo can make over 100PSI boost pretty easy, turned down 80psi is a gear shift away.

To hold anything over 50psi you'll need headstuds, over 60psi, you'll need o-rings, around 70psi, you should ditch the o-rings, and get fire ring'd. If you want to go over 70-75psi, you'll have to get the 14mm head studs, and bigger fire rings.

I would suggest selling that turbo for as much as you can, then get a twin kit like J. R's, and 12mm Head studs. Run a '40 on top, and a big 3B on the bottom. Over 600rwhp has repeatadly done with a '40/3b twin setup.

I am running a HX-35/12 - 3b/22 twin setup and am at 540rwhp, with o-rings, and 12mm studs.

If you really are set on using the 4c, get a '55, a twin kit, studs, and get your head fire ringed. It's not too hard to pull the motor. Get it drilled to fit 14mm studs. Much better safe than sorry.

You two should do an infomercial! lmao!

LOL. Maybe a good idea,, heh.

I've used alot of J. R's stuff. He is only one I've dealt with who is running really big injectors and turbos. I know Schieds, Buddha Power, and Enterprise run just as big stuff, and alot of stuff that's alot bigger, but, I've talked to J. R. a ton, and consider him a great friend.

I've used his stuff for the last year or so, and it's worked great.

I can't talk about Schieds, Haisley, or EE, because I have not dealt with them, and when I have tried, they are hard to talk to.

patcarman,

Be sure you get that motor setup for the boost you want to run.

Nick, maybe the redline Blue Chip is 135HP?

HTH,

Merrick

I thought JRs turbos came from Joe Dailey?

Joe turned me on to a guy that he had used. I tried him for a while. He did not want to step up and try some of my ideas so I went another way. Damn good thing to!!

JDailey said:
Yep, those are some goofy rules. The whole no adapter plate rule is stupid. Trying run a big cold wheel with a hot wheel stuffed in a bolt on housing is a disaster. We've been through several thousand dollars of chargers this year because of this rule. Limit the cold wheel size only!

Looks to me that Joe had a hard way to go last season with turbos. I only had one customer lose a turbo this past year. EXCEPT FOR MERRICK AND HIS ROCKS.

J. R.

JR-You are right about our former turbo guy. He was the best in his prime. Too bad he isn't 20 years younger! We not only grenaded his chargers last year, but one's from two other reputable builders. You only lost one charger? That's great. But... I don't remember getting beat by any of your customers??

#4 and #7 are customer's of mine. But I did not see your name in front of either one of them.
