Peter:
FWIW, alot of the "negative perspective" towards Banks is brought on
by your company itself!!! Examples???
1. ) Your recent ad in many of the 4WD magazines shows your "Banks Six-Gun Speedloader" and makes comparisons to some of your competitors such as TST. You show TST with nine (9) years of experience with diesel
performance! WRONG Peter!!! Mark Chapple (owner of TST) has OVER
thirty (30) years of experience in the diesel industry with alot of that
experience working for Cummins as an Engineer!! I guess Gale or his
R&D crew for advertising should do their homework before they post
an ad like that.
2. ) In July 2003, you debuted your "Banks Sidewinder LSR Truck" at the
ATS Truckfest Rally held at Bandimere Speedway just outside Denver,
Colorado to drag race it in an exhibition against the Scott Bentz Cummins
Diesel Dragster. (BTW,... ... the Scott Bentz Dragster beat your Sidewinder
truck pretty handidly!!) Gale Banks called Clint Cannon @ ATS before that event and had them build a complete Stage IV ATS TripleLok Transmission
for your truck so it could be drag raced without the "delay" of the manual
you had in it for the LSR run. I was at that rally and your own pit crew
that day wouldn't even admit it was an ATS Transmission even though
the thing was painted purple!!! I know because I looked under the truck!!
When I asked your crew "what kind of automatic transmission are you guys
running they replied "It's a Banks!" Yeah, right... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
Now I see your new "Banks High Performance Torque Converter" which
was displayed on the "Extreme 4X4 Show" which by the way showed
to be a "multi-disc with a billet cover. " To be honest with you, it looked
ALOT like the ATS TripleLok Converter with the exception that the discs
looked to have "round tabs" rather than the square tabs that Clint @ ATS
designed and I believe has a "patent pending. " We hear that "Pro-Torque"
in New York builds your torque converters, is that right????
3. ) I personally know one of your customers who experienced an engine
failure in his 2004 Dodge CTD CR last year about this time up in Indiana/
Illinois while running your Banks Six-Gun w/Speedloader. Specifically,
the #6 piston was badly scored and you guys (so far) have refused
to help him. I won't get any deeper into this because I believe it is
still in litigation, but,... ... ... ... . your own ad says; "the Banks Six Gun
is the upgrade needed for BIG horespower and torque gains, matched
with comprehensive airflow improvements to keep your engine and
transmission cool while you're smokin' your buddies. " I guess that
Six Gun didn't keep the engine too cool in this case I mention huh??
Peter, I know of more incidents but that is enough for now. I think
you get the idea. As you said yourself; "you (us) are entitled to our
opinions. " You got that right, but in my personal case my opinions
are a result of what I have personally seen your company do over
the last few years.
