Twins Cold Pipe diameter

Is there a reason for 3" or 4" diam. piping on most twins set-ups or is it preference and room issues. I am putting pieces together to build a HX35/BHT3B twins set-up and was wondering what the reasoning behind the tubing size.

3" is fine



4" just looks cooler, no real added benefit other than it is easier to clamp a boot between it and the small turbo inlet

My first set was 3. 5 and this one is 4. 0... ... either is fine! I did see a set this weekend with 3. 0 for clearence issues... ... . put it like this the discharge to the cooler is 3. 0.

3. 5" or 4"



4" is what I run. I heard 3. 5" is much easier to fit. It also makes the filter pipe fit in there better.
