Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) U joints ?

This is not a problem when Im not pulling my trailer. And it doesnt happen all of the time. But, it seems like when I get home pulling my trailer, and put it into reverse to back into my driveway, there is a very slight hesitation. And then it kind of bangs into gear. I really dont experience this anywhere but at home. Not backing into a camping spot, or shifting into drive.



Although Ive just come off the freeway, I drive about a mile and a half on neighborhood streets before I get to my house. So, I dont think the tran fluid is particularly hot (and I do have a gauge). And this be a ujoint ? Or does someone have some other ideas ?

Check your pinon nut. I had this on a Dana 80 on my old Ford. It was about a 1/4 turn loose and I had no oil leak.
