My injection pump had a plunger stick. I have the pump and injectors going out for rebuild. Replaced the pushrod cover gasket and rebuilt vacuum pump. ATS exhaust manifold is ready to go on. I want to install my ARP head studs, since I am down this far and the truck has 180,000 miles on it. Thinking about pulling head for new gasket and better access to cleaning bolt holes for head studs, while I am this far down. What is better setup, the Cometic mls head gasket or a set of fire rings? The price between the two gaskets is close, other than the cost to machine the grooves in the head.

You might want to check, I think there have been some issues with the Cometic. Just go with the Cummins would be my recommendation.

like said get a cummins marine . 010 over gasket the cometic ones have had bad issues. get ahold of SNEDGE over on comp d great contact for cummins parts if you are thinking firerings just get the head gone through deck and install o-rings then you can still use the factory gasket. marine gasket with studs and a good flat head with 0-rings should be good to 75 or so.
