I am looking at the US Gear Exhaust Brake, looks like a good idea but looking for advice and or your experience with this product and company.

Thanks

Jim

I had one on the '93. It was a good working brake. My only complaints are that the shifter switch was cheap and quit working and the the control module quit working twice, but they were very helpful with the warranty and fixed it for free.

I had one on my 95. Was installed at about 25k miles. It was never a moments trouble, and the current owner has about 300k on the truck and has only had to replace the battery for the wireless remote button. I prefer the US Gear to the other brands for 2 reasons: no valve spring change required, and 2. no turbo housing interferance.

I've got U. S. Gear gauges in a triple-frog-eye configuration on top my dash. They seem to work great and they do match the Dodge gauges perfectly. my only complaint is that when I was trouble-shooting a bad ground I pulled the gauges and on the back of each it said... "Made in India".

I expected a gauge which said "U. S. Gear" to say "Made In U. S. A. "

BC is right that the valve springs are not to be changed. The only thing is you cannot set the back pressure more than 30 lbs. If you do change out the springs to 60 lbs one you can set the lever for boost control to 60 lbs with that much more stopping power. I have 60 lbs springs but have not decieded if that much more is necessary. I do like mine very much like is. It will hold a 12,5K rv down a 6 degree grade at the speed it started . As it starts to flatten out the truck will slow down.

Very nice under the truck also.

If I remember right. they have two different brakes. With and without the waste-gate. I think I paid around $900 for the waste gate one.
