USC aint got no right to be in champ game

In the Atlanta paper today they had an article about ESPN trying to get the coaches to make their ballots public.

They did have cals coach and another coaches top 5



The coaches narrowly defeated this idea by like 6 votes.



This is the kind of censorship that is supported by California candy land where they never have to line up with an SEC or Big 10 conference team.



Just propagates the CALIFORNIA DREAMING concept.



We can stay in Cali and not have to face the real world and still think we are the best. One day Cali is going to have to face the music!

Yes the Cal coach wanted to make the ballots public, because somehow Cal got dropped out of the #4 spot. Seems about the only way that was possible was if some (Texas) coaches decided to rank them very low. Too bad they won't make it public, then we would see which coaches cheated. It cost them a big bowl game, they deserved better.

I repeat... when the Pac-10 has played against the SEC in the past 5 years, the Pac-10 has dominated, they have a 9-2 record. This season the socalled defending NCAA champs LSU, played a mediocre PAC10 team Oregon St. , LSU won by one lousy point, after the Oregon st. kicker missed 3 extra points! So that record should be 10-1 ! :-laf :-laf :-laf

Just got back from 2 weeks in the mountains. whats been going on? Is SEC ruling yet or what?

No doubt football in states like Texas and Alabama is huge... .



Don't leave out Ohio. Ohio State went 7-4 this year, but what can you expect after losing 20 (?) players to the NFL last year. At least we beat Michigan (and badly) this year. Thats like winning a national championship to us. OSU and "That team up North" is definitely the best rivalry of all time.

Enjoy the $$$$$ with our compliments. How did our unworthy, weak scheduled,undersized,untalented little group look to you ? I put some $ on them with the points, and some heads up ( at a 5-1 odds, why not?). As it came out, I lost $3. BFD. I just hope we earned a little respect from the left coast AND back east. We may have lost the game, but our coach is keeping his word & staying . It should be called the B. R. S. for bowl racketeering series. DK.

jpounder, OK, I will admit that I read this on another board (the record of 9-2) I referenced. I have done some investigating and it was wrong... I am sorry, but it was an honest mistake. In reality in the past 5 years the Pac-10 owns a 6-2 record vs. the SEC. :

I will admit however, the Pac-10 looks pretty bad this year in the bowl games! Guess we will see how USC does against those Okies on Tues. !

The games so far have been pretty good, unless you are a Texas Aggie or an LSU Tiger. The Aggies absolutely stunk up the field, worst bowl performance I have seen since the Longhorns folded up against Miami in the early 90's.



The Tigers - boy I thought they had come back and won, and with seconds left their safety pulls an absolute BONER and lets that receiver break through into the open field All over the nation, cries of "Geaux Tigahs" became "DOH!!! Tigahs!"



Texas and Michigan were pretty fun to watch in the Rose Bowl, I thought Texas could have easily opened up the scoring but a few key mistakes kept things close. Michigan pretty well had the Texas defense on the ropes, the tackling was miserable and the Wolverines were getting lots of yards after initial contact. Wouldn't have mattered though if the Horns had opened up the floodgates on offense, instead they stuck with the Captain Vince One Man Band most of the game. That rascal is flat amazing, can't stop him with a machine gun when he really shows up to play.



Of course, in the final 45 seconds I thought Mack Brown had lost his mind, letting the clock run and kicking a field goal - they could have had 3 or 4 more shots at the end zone with Young, but he went with the kicker who has been pretty poor this year. Pretty much put the game's outcome on sheer luck



Gonna be fun watching the Sooners

WOE is me, I am licking my wounds over that Iowa LSU game. It really ticks me off that these schools dont lay down and take the whupping they deserve when facing an SEC opponet. It looks like we will just break even. I wish we could get some more games against candy land people! :-laf

Yes, the Rose bowl was a great game... & the Iowa/LSU game was even better, incredible finish!

I will admit that the Pac-10 has looked pretty bad in the bowl games, so far.



But their record is 2-2,

with Oregon St. and Az St. picking up wins, While UCLA and Cal have both lost.



The "powerful" SEC however is even worse at 2-3!

With Bama, FLA & LSU all losing... while Tenn. and GA won.

The line on the champ game has moved. There is a lot of $$ on the Sooners. USC opened at -3 and it's now practically a pick 'em (But there are quite a few lines around).



As far as Boise St. goes, they are a great team. But they ran into Louisville, which practically had a home game. I'm glad they made me $. They have always had my respect.

VT had alot of chances in the red zone... . how about that short field goal they missed in the 3rd Q... . ended up costing them the game.
