Ok... Long story short, I tore down the 99 I bought a few months ago today to replace what I believed to be a leaking gear housing gasket. The front crank seal was definitely wet, and the gasket does appear to have been leaking, but I definitely found the culprit for my mega oil leak... Previous owner paid a local shop to do a vacuum pump seal kit, and apparently, they never bolted the two halves of the pump together... I pulled the gear housing, the pump looked funny, I touched it and it practically fell off the truck.
So, The pump looks OK, and it worked properly before disassembly. Bolts aren't a problem to get. But... The o-ring that seals the two halves of the pump together is swollen beyond reuse. Does anyone know if this o-ring is available? Anyone have an industry part # for it? I need to find one quickly, as I need to get the truck back together, as it's my only 4wd currently and we seem to keep getting snowed on in PA.
Anyone who can help me out on this, I greatly appreciate it!
