So after many many puddles, and having to top off my oil constantly for a couple of months, I think I found the leak. I looks like its coming out right around at least one of the valve covers. Sound feasable, or am I crazy? What would cause this, just age? Also, I'm guessing thats a special gasket or o-ring style seal in there, get it from a Cummins shop?

You can get them from Cummins. I got mine from NAPA and they fit perfectly. The set from NAPA includes the O rings for the bolts.

edit... might as well adjust the rocker arms while you're in there

Tippin, I did a valve adjust a few months ago... . and right after the valve cover gaskets started to leak. I have a new set, but I haven't put them in. I don't know if it is recommended to put in a new set when ever one opens up the valve train or not. Surprising how much oil that can oooze out eh?

You can also get them from the Case/ IH man. Make sure you get the gray ones and not the black ones. I think I read that the black gets stiff and leaks sooner.

Dave, I've had mine off a bunch of times since replacement. No leaks yet!
