Oo. im finishing the quarter mile at 3600 rpm ; at what point do the valves start to float, i am not sure! this is a stock valve train. thanks
lmills said:Mine ran between 35 and 3600 on the dyno the other month. Not to mention all the abuse it has seen on the street.I had no signs at all of valve contact. However I would definitely look into a set of springs if you intend to frequent that RPM. If you had a cam you would definitely have been a good candidate for P/V contact
lmills said:Oh yeh, there are other things to consider also that affect valve float. Such as drive pressures, boost pressures and the age
Diesel Power said:boost is around 60 psi. the year is 04, and 80k on the clock----i will put better springs in later, but for now i think its going to be just fine! what do you think?
cerberusiam said:Ouch!!!!I think you already IN the "danger zone".

RCCox said:What do you have to do to spin 3600rpm? My truck is on the governor at 3100rpm's.
RCCox said:I have a bd speed eleiminator that lets me pull past the speed governer, but as soon as it gets to 3100rpms the truck noses over.
RCCox said:It doesnt feel like defueling, it feels like like I am banging on a rev limiter(like in a gasser).
