hEY GUYS SEEM LIKE i REMBER A POST A WEEK OR 2 AGO ABOUT A GUY WITH A ve PUMP LEAK, SOMETHING ABOUT A PLATE ON THE ENGINE SIDE OF THE PUMP THAT HAS A SEAL OR GASKET THAT BLEW OUT AND FUEL WENT EVERYWHERE. ANYONE READ OR KNOW ABOUT IT . mY BROTHER IN LAW HAS A LITTLE PROBLEM AND NEEDS HELP. oPS DIDN'T RREALIZE I WAS IN CAPS sorry fellas

Yep, you remember right... there is an oval plate w/o-ring on the back side. They can leak, sometimes for no apparent reason. It basically happens as a result of the pumps internal pressure popping the o-ring.

The pump will have to be removed to get at it though... that's the only crummy part.

If you are going to do this you'll need to find TDC for the engine, then set the timing pin on the pump, lock the pump in place so it can't rotate/move and then pull the pump. You reverse the order on install and you're good to go... . after you prime everything of course.

Bob.

leaky pump thanks

Bushwakr ,Thanks for the quick responce, I new I'd read that on one of these posts, but its hard to retrive with VE only being 2 letters Ops guess maybe I could have used injector instead. O well thanks for the rescue

A hint for doing 2 letter searches is to, use a * after the 2 letters. The * is considered a wild card by the forum search engine and it will return anything that starts with the letters preceding it.
