VE44 BOMBFest - April 14th, 10 am, ASA Modifieds
It has been talked about, you've wanted it, and now you've got it!! BOMBFest 07 is ON! Oo.
Many of us 1st genners have been talking about our little VE pumps and how to get the most bang for the buck, and I decided to send the invite to anyone interested to come out to the shop on April 14th, the Saturday after Easter, for a fun-filled day of VE injection pump R/R, plus mods :-laf .
This is not for '1st gens only', though the main focus will be on the VE pumps/mods. I will be doing the mods to my own rig, and I invite anyone interested to come out to watch and/or do the same mods to their own pumps. I will be learning about these pumps as much as anyone else, so the more experience in the house the merrier.
We're planning a BBQ lunch on the grille and sodas, so plan for an all-day event.
As well, I want to ask any 1st gen VE guru's (GLHS comes to mind) to please attend to offer real expertise and experience for us beginners into the pump rebuilding arena.
Main event:
- VE44 modifications - all in the truck. No removal required.
- 3400 governor spring install
- PDR custom fuel cone install
- Adjustments: High idle screw, full fuel screw, AFC, starwheel, timing
- Intake (of course
)
Other possibilities that day (if I get the hardware in time):
- Turbo upgrades (HX-35 w/ 16cm collar)
- Injectors (PODs)
Again, I am planning each of these BOMBs to my own rig, and I offer to anyone to come down and watch/do the same mods to your own rigs. Oh, in case yer wondering, BOMB stands for Better Off Modified Baby!
Thanks for your interest
. If you want to partake and need parts/rebuild kits, I can organize a group order from PDR for the 3400 rpm governor springs or other parts as necesary.
All the tools will be available, and if we fill the shop and parking with trucks we can have us a grand ole time. The shop is next to the house, so creature comforts and restrooms will be a few feet away.
Along with the VE mods, I also have a NV4500 and 4wd conversion and a KDP killin' planned for the rig sometime in late summer/early fall, and I can go over all the technical requirements for that swap and KDP, and will again have an open house for anyone interested in seeing how a conversion of that size happens.
The shop is located in Peyton, CO - about 1-1/2 hrs south and east of Denver, directly adjacent to Colorado Springs. The address is: 11871 Turney Rd, Peyton, CO. Mapquest takes you right to it. By then the Ramcharger will be done and it'll be parked outside as a landmark - you can't miss it
.
Hope to see you there!
