It may be that when I drove home from Spokane area in the historic ice storm at 30 mph and still sliding off the highway that my new truck thought I was a 90 year old driver who never goes beyond 50 mph but now my truck is dangerous pulling into traffic with up to 3-4 sec delays in throttle response. So bad that ,y 03 would smoke it off the line. I hope when my CAT gets replaced next week that they can re flash what the transmission learned driving all day very slow in the ice storm and respond better.

Anyone else have have an issue like this that could be fixed

File a complaint here: https://www.safercar.gov/

Driving style has a lot to do with it. Getting off the throttle and right back on it seems to make it raise it's ugly head. SNOKING

I dont know why my profile isnt showing 2017 Limited Longhorn, Aisin, etc with Artic Fox 27-5L 5th wheel. I see that when I go to edit but not showing up when I post. The lag is even very noticable to my 17 yo daughter. Now thats embarrasing. She wants my 03 now as it takes off faster.

Aisin equipped trucks are worse but they have engineered torque management=throttle lag. It's especially horrible when you get into the throttle slightly then back out and jump back in expecting it to be right there for you.....except it's lying flat on its face! I've had this problem since my 2014 and now my 2016.

If there is not a fix to this then I will be looking for an aftermarket tuner similar to the smarty jr I used as this is very annoying.

I have had zero issues with mine. Never felt a lag when merging into traffic. Of course, I drive it like a truck, not my Audi.

Someone else had to replace their SCR like I am having to do out of the factory and had thier PCM reflashed and noticed better throttle behavior. I will let you know when they do mine to see if that is all it takes.

when I picked up my 2017 I talked to the service manager about any special break-in thoughts. The only thing he said was no cruise for about 200 miles as the computer needs to learn you driving style, speed up, slow down, step on it a little and let off and then just drive it like normal. It does have some snap when you get on it. :) way more than I need but will be nice when towing and pulling into traffic.

They won't fix it I fought with Ram for 2 months on my old 2016. They the engineers said it is designed that way so it will stay that way. Filled a complaint with that like for safecar.gov even talked to them they can't do anything they said until there is a fatal accident, so I asked what am I to do wait till me or my wife or kid gets killed. They said no but can't do anything without a fatal or near fatal accident completely stupid.
I was a Ram fanboy (I have put on over 1 million miles in cummins powered trucks) till this truck but not anymore since my 16. I bought a truck to tow 20,000 lbs and it can't even get out of its own way.
