Routing the air line and wiring. Will also remote mount the compressor filter.

Found some self tapping bolts in my spare stuff, will ground it here.
Drilled a 3/16” hole and they self tap. Some thing from FTL scrap I believe.

I have a pacbrake compressor that was mounted by the intake horn and it lasted probably 2-3 years in that time I replaced one pressure switch. When my compressor failed I bought a Viair compressor and mounted it to the outside of the frame rail under the rear drivers door. I left the pressure switch and plumbing from the original pacbrake compressor in place to run the new viair compressor. I have since replaced the pressure switch two more times. I figure the heat is getting it. I have just been too lazy to re-plumb it to a better place. I have it on my list for this fall and winter as I have noticed that the old pacbrake bracket has cracked.

One thing I did notice being in Az. and Minot ND. Seems the pressure in the tank leaks down faster in the very cold (Winter) in Minot. Not sure if it leaks at the diaphram of the pressure switch (less pliable in the cold) or not. I could have a fully pressurised tank in the evening and empty by morning. Just something to watch for and be aware of.

I assume that you replaced it with the Viair pressure switch???

Grounds done, tested compressor and it does run. A good sign!!

Scuffled off the paint and then coated it after installing the grounds.

As tfucili says there is no better lead acid battery available.
Cat uses our group size as factory fit on their skid steer machines.
Catch them on sale in the fall, you won’t be disappointed...

Nice job Mike.
Glad to see you are using Cat batteries. I need a pay raise in my retirement check (if that will ever happen) to afford a new Ram truck. That is were Cat makes a lot of their money is in aftermarket parts.

Doing my part to help you out Jim!!!

First switch Pacbrake replaced under warranty, Second and Third I bought from Viair due cost of the Pacbrake one being 3 times the cost. I haven't seen a difference in quality. I did choose one with a lower pressure this last time thinking it might not sub-come to the heat as fast.

Thank you for the feedback. I figured I would leave a contingency plan in place in case the pressure switch couldn’t take the grief.
I believe there is room behind the headlight for the pressure switch to mount. I will order a Bendix air manifold tee with a mounting pad which will mount with a bolt. Then the pressure switch can mount to the top of the tee, air in and air out will go on each side. I left spare tubing and wire so I could change it later on if needed.
