CAT branded batteries are actually manufactured by Deka/East Penn.

IMO, ANY battery made by East Penn is an excellent battery.
Shop talk anecdotally indicates MUCH lower warranty return rates for East Penn batteries then for Johnson Controls/Exide batteries.

I stock "Alliance" brand batteries here which is a Daimler product line. They are made by Deka / East Penn and give excellent service in truck use.

Very few Warranty claims.......I don't stock the Group that fits our trucks so I get them across town at Cat. They turn them over quickly so always fresh.

Mark, waiting on a call back from CAT. Looks like there is a deal going on right now but I need to make sure it applies at all MILTON CAT branches before I quote anything.

When my Duster was first done, I put a Deka under the hood since a friend had a starter/ alternator shop (remember those?) in Penna, and dealt the brand direct from the factory. Never happened before or after, but that battery burped up all over my fresh paint under the hood.
I’ve been skittish about the brand since!

Another note on Deka, if you are near one of their DCs they sell "scratch & dent" batteries as "blems". They are stamped 2nd. I used several with zero issues. They are pennies on the dollar, and have no warranty. You go to "will call" and see if they have what you need. At least that's how it works in PHX.

Sorry for the hijack.

Don’t be sorry, I hijack your threads all the time.....:):D

Didn’t get underneath today, finished under hood stuff, wire loomed everything and wired the rest of it up. Air gauge installed, what a finger puzzle this has been. Shoulda just tore the truck apart, it wouldn’t have taken that much longer!!! Not so flexible anymore plus have lost some feeling in a couple of fingertips... miss that for sure!!

But I’ll get it!!!

Fixed some other wiring left over from the hasty trailer brake control install in a Walmart parking lot last year on the way home from DC....I wasn’t real technical that day, just wanted my trailer brakes back!!!

I usually pay a pretty hefty price for days after leaning over a fender or practicing acrobatic moves working on vehicles anymore. Keep lots of muscle/joint cream around.

Thank you for the feedback. I figured I would leave a contingency plan in place in case the pressure switch couldn’t take the grief.
I believe there is room behind the headlight for the pressure switch to mount. I will order a Bendix air manifold tee with a mounting pad which will mount with a bolt. Then the pressure switch can mount to the top of the tee, air in and air out will go on each side. I left spare tubing and wire so I could change it later on if needed.
When you get the Bendix air manifold take a picture as I am needing to do something similar. I also have a switch for my exhaust brake that I need to plumb in.
