Well Folks, I did it!

I found and bought a 2007 3500 4x4 w/ 5. 9 and 29K miles on it.

It has an AT and I need to ask, can I determine from the VIN what axle ratio it has and if it is a limited slip? Just from "seat of the pants", it feels like a 3. 73, but I would like to know!

Boy, is this thing smooth compared to my '01.

The steering is way quicker, too.

Post the last 8 of the VIN or PM it if you don't want to post it. Send your email and you will get a print of the equipment.

The easier test is to find an out of the way place, put your left foot firmly on the brake, then gradually apply throttle with the right foot until the engine overcomes the brakes.

One black mark : open or "pegleg" differential.

Two black marks : you have the highly desired ant-spin differential. As noted in this pic >>>> #ad
the owner does indeed have the anti-spin differential.

Yes, being a hotrodder child of the 60's... . I know how to do that, but I would like to know from the VIN what the axle ratio is and what the VIN says about limited slip.

You may also want to notify Chrysler that you are the new owner. That will allow them to send you any recall notices etc. (h46 has not been done yet)

Correct! We will do that ASAP and I think you are correct in that there is at least 1 reflash that should be performed. Under the hood, there is 1 stick-on label from a dealer who performed a reflash in Oct of 2006, I'm certain there is at least 1 newer one since then.
BTW..... the high pressure hose on the power steering is seeping, no drips, but it is a little wet and has some dirt collecting on it..... is that covered under the driveline warranty?
