I looked at an '01 2500 ext cab short bed auto w/54k yesterday. As I'm looking around under the hood, I noticed a yellow sticker on the VP44 wiring harness plug. Anybody have an idea as to why that sticker would be there?

BTW, there were no apparent modifications to the truck, nor the appearance that any had ever been done.

Box?

Some 01's come that way from factory to make sure you don't add a box to the plug I belive the Van aken plugs in that way.

Void sticker

That sticker is installed at the factory. Some fueling boxes require breaking or cutting the sticker and using that wiring harness to increase fueling and timing.

So if that connection has a virgin Void Sticker on it , then it hasn't been off or the sticker has been replaced. There are many fuel boxes that don't use this connection, so this void sticker is not a guarantee that the truck has not had a power-enhancing box added at one time.

My dealer cut my void sticker to access the pump many moons ago, and did not replace the sticker, so I kept the reciept for the work just incase I needed a record that I was not the person who cut it.

I would check the lift pump pressure before I commited to the truck, if it is at a dealer, you might get some added warrantee on the VP44 if the lift pump is weak or dead.

Hope this helps, Greg L

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll stick with my 12v for now. That thing drove like a terd in comparison to my truck. Granted it was the first stock Dodge I have driven in probably 12 months. The aftermarket trans makes a big difference.

I understand that, I went to the dealer and drove the (NEW) 4. 5 6 speed and was wondering where all that power was :-laf :-laf
