After a recent issue with power dropout on my '99 24 Valve (apparently caused by failing APPS) I'm wondering . . .

How many miles do you have on your VP44?

Mine is factory original with 130,000 and counting. Now I'm getting nervous, thinking I may be running on borrowed time. I have been running on B100 biodiesel for almost a year now, and it has much better lubricity than petrodiesel, so maybe that could have bought me a little extra time. On the other hand, I just recently replaced the lift pump (also factory original), so could possibly have been running with low fuel pressure for who knows how long. (Getting fuel pressure gage real soon now!)

So how many miles for your VP44?? Inquiring minds want to know. ;)

I have 6+ years and 106K miles on my original Vp44. HGowever, my original lift pump went belly up at ~45K miles, and I replaced it and also added a Carter pusher pump.

I just rolled 170,000 on the stock VP. Thought I was going to have to replace it two summers ago, got the 0216 code but haven't had a problem since.

Mine died at about 45k. Was running about 5k before with intermitant dead pedal and 0216code. I attribute mine crappin' out on losing 4 lift pumps in that first 45K as well, with two of them being complete instantainious failures (one minute good pressure the next zero) with no warning. The others went down quick but had atleast 8psi when they were premptively changed.

I have close to 30k on the replacement (along with a FASS) and have had not had one problem (with either, they went in the same week).
