Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) VP44 swaps from ETC/ETH and years

How interchangeable are the VP44's?? Will an early 2001 ETC pump work on a 2002 ETH??

I asked a few vendors when I sourced my new pump. I got conflicting info. Some said yes, some no. I went the HRVP route since I couldn't get a straight answer. I'd go the SO pump route on the HO if you find enough consensus that you can do it. I didn't get enough bump from the HRVP to justify the extra $500 in my opinion.

Well... is it impossible? Is there too much money involved to convert that makes the HRVP that much more desirable?
