waist gate opens at 2500 rpm

i have a 2006 dodge ram on the way home from Moab when i went to down shift to a passing gear and went to 2500 rpm it would drop all boost and take a moment to get power again this would happen at any speed. is their an adjustment on the waist gate or is the turbo shot?? is this the issue? or could it be computer issues?? any help would be nice thanks

To do a quick test pinch the waste gate tube off and see if it will build boost that way. If it does a good chance it the electronic actuator.

The rpms don't really matter, boost does. Do you have a boost gauage? What is it reading and is it actually loosing boost or is something else going on?

Any performance mods on the truck?

Have you checked for codes with a scanner? What are EGT's and rail pressure doing when this happens?

This could be as simple as a weak spring in the WG actuator or complicated as a bad ECU. You will need to do some diagnostics to figure it out.
