MMeier,
That's a Good One!!!
My '03 has been OK. Have had the injector knocking issues. The dealer knew, & acknowledged, something was wrong but, couldn't do anything because DC wouldn't approve any repairs. I'm quite dissappointed in DC lack of help.
Fortunately, this, & other Dodge/Cummins related websites provide a lot of good information & I was able to fix the knocking problem by following the advice given on this site.
My A/C pump died at 47,000 miles. Well over $800. 00 to replace it. The PAG oil that goes into the pump is $50. 00 for 8. 4 oz. What's so special about this oil? If it was that good, why did my A/C pump die so prematurely?
There were a number of other problems areas that the dealer took care of under warranty. Dealer response, in my case, has been good.
It seems to me that these trucks have become so complicated that they are now rather delicate. I wonder how problematic they are going to be, in the long run?
Instead of all the "fancy crap", I wish they would build a simpler, more industrial quality, vehicle. My old '91. 5 W-250 seems to be more "bullet-proof" but, much less complicated.
