My Dad has mixed used motor oil with diesel for his bulldozers and farm tractors for years. It obviously eliminates the need to dispose of the used oil but he always said it gave the fuel more power and allowed the dozer to push harder. I actually know a lot of farmers who do it. That being said... This is all older machinery. Emissions are not even mildly a concern and, honestly, neither is reliabilty. The tractor or dozer stops running in the field you quit working for the day and clean fuel filters, etc. .
I would absolutely never do this with my truck. Our engines are built with much finer tolerances than old farm machinery. Cummins does certify the B block to run on not only Diesel #1 and #2, but also Jet A and B, JP 5 and 8, and Kerosene. But alternate fuels are not the same as dumping used motor oil in your fuel tank.
As a diesel mechanic, I highly advise against it!
