I was working around the air cleaner area, cleaning things up and I discoved that the hose from the wastegate on the turbo is not hooked up to anything. There's a plug where I think it's supposed to hook up.

Why would a person do this?

Is this going to hurt something?

Where do I get the elbow to hook it back up?

The truck used to have a bully dog tourqe box on it so I assume that the previous owner unhooked the hose at the same time.

thanks,

Scott

They dissabled the wastgate. The higher boost pressures lowered EGT's

If you are not running a boost module, the ECM will de-fuel... you will have less power.

your local parts store should have an elbow. The threads are 1/8 NPT

did they have any thing else on the truck like injectors, gauges etc?

There is an exhaust temp gage.

The probe is in the cast elbow attached to the back of the turbo.

Normal driving it show's 500 to 600 degrees.

Pulling 30' camper it show's 700 to 800 when cruising.

The exhaust manifold looks brand new compared the rest of the engine so I wonder if it has been replaced.

I'll probably get the elbow and hook it back up.

Are there some more things that I need to look for to see if they've been modified. This truck has to last me a long time (currently has 162K miles) so I don't want to have any backyard modifications that are going to hurt it.
